Starting at San Jose State, Ed earned his B.A. and MBA degrees at Stanford, followed by two years as a supply officer on the U.S. Wasp. After the service, he spent the next 16 years in Riverside with the Security Pacific Bank and the law firm of Best, Best and Kreiger. From 1971 to 1982, he was back in the Bay Area, employed by the Bank of California as VP and General Counsel. Returning to Bakersfield in 1982, he was with the American National Bank until 1991 when he returned to private practice "of counsel," retiring in 1997.
